เมื่อวันที่ 2 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุล พร้อมด้วยนายสัณห์ อรุณรักษ์ติชัย ผู้อำนวยการกองตรวจลงตราและเอกสารเดินทางคนต่างด้าว นำคณะผู้แทนไทย ประกอบด้วย ผศ.ดร. ประทิต สันติประภพ ที่ปรึกษากระทรวงการต่างประเทศเรื่อง ABTC และนายสุธีร์ สธนสถาพร ผู้อำนวยการคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) เข้าร่วมการประชุม Business Mobilty Group (BMG) ครั้งที่ 1 ประจำปี 2569 ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการประชุมเจ้าหน้าที่อาวุโสเอเปค ครั้งที่ 1 (SOM 1) ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 1 - 10 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 ที่นครกว่างโจว สาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีน
ที่ประชุมได้พิจารณาประเด็นต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับการอำนวยความสะดวกในการเดินทางระหว่างเขตเศรษฐกิจ APEC รวมถึงประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการใช้งานบัตร APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) ในการเข้าเมือง ซึ่งปัจจุบันมีนักธุรกิจจากเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค 19 เขต รวมทั้งไทย (ยกเว้นสหรัฐฯ และแคนาดา) สมัครเป็นผู้ใช้บัตรเกือบ 600,000 ราย โดยนักธุรกิจผู้ถือบัตร APEC ได้รับความสะดวกในการเข้าเมืองใน 21 เขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปคผ่านช่องทางพิเศษ
คณะผู้แทนไทยได้เน้นย้ำถึงความพร้อมของไทยในการสนับสนุนเขตเศรษฐกิจต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะออสเตรเลีย ซึ่งเป็นผู้ดูแลระบบ ABTC ในการพัฒนาระบบ ABTC และการอำนวยความสะดวกแก่นักธุรกิจและนักลงทุนจากสมาชิกเขตเศรษฐกิจเอเปค
ทั้งนี้ สถานะล่าสุด (1 มกราคม 2568 - 4 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569) ไทยออกบัตร ABTC ในรูปแบบ Physical จำนวน 2,900 ใบ และรูปแบบ Virtual จำนวน 1,147 ใบ และมีบัตรที่มีสถานะ active รวม 22,239 ใบ กรมการกงสุลขอเชิญนักธุรกิจไทยที่สนใจสมัครเป็นสมาชิกบัตร ABTC ได้ที่เว็บไซต์ของ กกร. DDG of Consular Affairs Department Attends the APEC meeting in China on facilitation of immigration clearance for business travelers from APEC member countries.
On 2 February 2026, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, and Mr. Sunh Arunrugstichai, Director of the Visas and Travel Documents Division, led the BMG Thailand team comprising of Asst. Professor Dr. Pratit Santiprabhob. Advisor of MFA on ABTC and Mr. Sutee Satanasathaporn, Director General of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking, to the 1st Business Mobility Group (BMG) Meeting of 2026, held under the APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting 1 (SOM 1) in Guangzhou, the People's Republic of China.
The meeting discussed measures to facilitate business travel among APEC economies, including issues related to the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) for immigration purposes. There are currently nearly 600,000 APEC business cardholders from 19 APEC economies, including Thailand (excluding the United States and Canada). APEC cardholders can enjoy expedited entry to 21 APEC economies through APEC special lanes.
The Thai delegation reaffirmed Thailand’s readiness to support APEC economies, particularly Australia, as the administrator of the ABTC system in enhancing the ABTC system and facilitating business travel among APEC member economies.
From 1 January 2025 to 4 February 2026, Thailand issued 2,900 physical ABTCs and 1,147 virtual ABTCs, with a total of 22,239 active cards. The Department of Consular Affairs would like to invite Thai business travelers to apply for membership of ABTC at JSCCIB’s website (https://abtc-jsccib.org/abtc-register.html)
