เมื่อวันที่ 29 กุมภาพันธ์ - 1 มีนาคม 2567 นายนฤชัย นินนาท รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุลเป็นหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนไทยเข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะทำงาน Business Mobility Group (APEC BMG) ครั้งที่ 1/2567 ณ กรุงลิมา ประเทศเปรู โดยมี รศ. ดร. ประทิต สันติประภพ ที่ปรึกษาโครงการ APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) และนายสุธีร์ สธนสถาพร ผู้อำนวยการคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน เข้าร่วมด้วย
อนึ่ง คณะทำงาน APEC BMG มีความสำคัญต่อการส่งเสริมปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างภาคธุรกิจของเอเปคโดยมีผลงานที่สำคัญ คือ บัตร APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) ซึ่งเป็นผลลัพธ์ของ APEC ที่เป็นรูปธรรมที่สุด ในการประชุมครั้งนี้ ที่ประชุมได้ให้ความสำคัญกับการอำนวยความสะดวกให้แก่ผู้ถือบัตรเพิ่มเติมและครอบคลุม (inclusive) มากยิ่งขึ้น ในโอกาสดังกล่าว นายนฤชัยฯ ได้พบหารือทวิภาคีกับ (1) Convenor ของ APEC เพื่อหารือถึงการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในกรอบ BMG (2) คณะผู้แทนเปรู โดยหารือเกี่ยวกับการสนับสนุนการเป็นเจ้าภาพ APEC ของเปรูซึ่งสอดคล้องกับประเด็นที่ไทยให้ความสำคัญ และ (3) คณะผู้แทนจีนในประเด็นบัตร ABTC และติดตามความร่วมมือในการตรวจคนเข้าเมืองระหว่างกันหลังจากที่ความตกลงยกเว้นการตรวจลงตราระหว่างไทย-จีนมีผลบังคับใช้เมื่อวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2567

Mr. Naruchai Ninnad, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, attended the APEC Business Mobility Group Meeting (APEC BMG) in Lima, Peru, as Head of the Thai delegation, together with Asst. Prof. Dr. Pratit Santiprabhob, Advisor of Thailand's APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) and Mr. Sutee Satanasathaporn, General Manager of the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB).
The BMG Working Group is instrumental to the promotion of business interactions within the APEC region with the APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) as its key deliverable and the most tangible product and outcome of APEC. During the meeting, economies explored ways to further facilitate ABTC holders and to make the scheme more inclusive. The Deputy Director-General also had bilateral meetings with (i) the BMG Convenor to discuss cooperation under the BMG framework; (ii) the Peruvian delegation to discuss the host's priorities which coincide with Thailand's and (iii) the Chinese delegation to discuss matters related to ABTC and follow up on immigration cooperation after the agreement on visa exemption between Thailand and China came into effect on March 1, 2024.
