เมื่อวันที่ 26 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุล พร้อมด้วยนางสาวเชาวนี ตังวงศ์ประเสริฐ ผู้อำนวยการกองสัญชาติและนิติกรณ์ และคณะเจ้าหน้าที่กองสัญชาติและนิติกรณ์ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมกับคณะอนุกรรมาธิการพิจารณาศึกษากฎหมายด้านการท่องเที่ยวและการกีฬา ในคณะกรรมาธิการการท่องเที่ยวและการกีฬา วุฒิสภา เพื่อหารือแนวทางการมีส่วนร่วมส่งเสริมการสมรสเท่าเทียมในประเทศไทย โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพิจารณาความเหมาะสมของแนวทางการดำเนินกิจกรรม ทั้งข้อกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวข้อง ขั้นตอนการปฏิบัติของหน่วยราชการ การอำนวยความสะดวก การรักษาความสงบเรียบร้อย ตลอดจนการสื่อสารประชาสัมพันธ์ที่เหมาะสมในการจัดกิจกรรมจดทะเบียนสมรสเท่าเทียมเป็นหมู่คณะในประเทศไทย ซึ่งคาดว่ากิจกรรมดังกล่าวจะส่งเสริมภาพลักษณ์ด้านการท่องเที่ยว การเป็นศูนย์กลางด้านความเท่าเทียมและหลากหลายทางเพศในระดับนานาชาติ

DDG of Consular Affairs Participates in a discussion on guidelines to promote marriage equality in Thailand with the Sub-committee for Consideration and Study of Laws on Tourism and Sports of the Parliament.
On February 26, 2026, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, together with Ms. Chaowanee Tangwongprasert, Director of the Legalization Division, and staff from the Legalization Division, participated in a meeting with
the Sub-committee for Consideration and Study of Laws on Tourism and Sports attached to the Senate Commission on Tourism and Sports to discuss ways to promote marriage equality in Thailand. The objective was to consider the appropriateness of activities, including relevant laws, government procedures, convenience, maintaining public order, and appropriate communication and public relations for organizing group marriage registration events for marriage equality in Thailand. It is expected that aforementioned activities will enhance Thailand's tourism image and establish Thailand as an international hub for gender equality and diversity.
