เมื่อวันที่ 17 สิงหาคม 2569 นางสาวนภามาศ ปัญญาตรง หัวหน้าสำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางฯ เชียงใหม่ เข้าร่วมการประชุมเชิงปฏิบัติการเพื่อขับเคลื่อนการดำเนินความสัมพันธ์เมืองพี่เมืองน้อง (Sister City) จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ พ.ศ. 2569 ณ โรงแรมแชงกรี-ลา เชียงใหม่ โดยมีนายรัฐพล นราดิศร ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ เป็นประธานในพิธีเปิด และนายนักปราชญ์ ไชยานนท์ หัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ พร้อมด้วยหัวหน้าส่วนราชการ ผู้แทนหน่วยงานภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน สถาบันการศึกษา และภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วมการประชุม

ผู้ว่าราชการฯ กล่าวว่า เชียงใหม่เป็นจังหวัดที่มีศักยภาพหลายด้านและมีความสัมพันธ์เชื่อมโยงกับต่างประเทศอย่างต่อเนื่อง ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์เมืองพี่เมืองน้องเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการสร้างเสริมความร่วมมือ แลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ ตลอดจนต่อยอดขีดความสามารถของแต่ละพื้นที่ให้เกิดประโยชน์ต่อประชาชนและการพัฒนาจังหวัด ทั้งยังหวังว่า การประชุมครั้งนี้จะเปิดโอกาสให้ภาคส่วนต่าง ๆ ร่วมกันกำหนดทิศทางและบทบาทของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในการขับเคลื่อนความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างจังหวัดเชียงใหม่กับเมืองพี่เมืองน้องแต่ละแห่ง เพื่อนำไปสู่การจัดทำแผนการปฏิบัติงานที่มีเป้าหมายชัดเจน นำไปปฏิบัติได้จริง และเกิดประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาเมืองอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและยั่งยืน

หัวหน้าสำนักงานหนังสือเดินทางฯ ย้ำกับหัวหน้าสำนักงานจังหวัดฯ ถึงความพร้อมของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศในการสนับสนุนการเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์เมืองพี่เมืองน้องกับเมืองในประเทศต่าง ๆ โดยเฉพาะเมืองที่จะยังประโยชน์ต่อจังหวัดและประชาชนอย่างแท้จริง ทั้งยังร่วมแสดงความเห็นในส่วนที่จังหวัดเชียงใหม่สามารถต่อยอดความร่วมมือจากจุดแข็งของแต่ละเมืองพี่เมืองน้อง

On 17 August 2026, Ms. Napamas Panyatrong, Chief of Chiang Mai Passport Office, participated in the 2026 workshop to advance sister city relations of Chiang Mai province at Shangri-La Chinag Mai Hotel. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr. Rattanaphon Naradisorn, Governor of Chiang Mai, and the workshop was attended by Mr. Nakprat Chaiyanon, Chief of the Chiang Mai Governor's Office, alongside chiefs of provincial agencies and representatives from public agencies, the private sector, academic institutions, and other relevant sectors.

The Governor underscored that Chiang Mai is a province with multidimentional potential and has continuously had relations linking with a number of foreign countries. This has made sister city relations such crucial mechanisms in enhancing cooperation, exchanging knowledge and experience, as well as building upon each area’s capacity to benefit the people and the development of the province. He also hoped that the workshop will create opportunities for different sectors to determine directions and roles of related agencies in driving forward relations between Chiang Mai and each sister city. It should lead to an establishment of an action plan with clear, practical and beneficial goals towards concrete and sustainable city development.

The Chief of the Passport Office reaffirmed with the Chief of the Governor's Office that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands ready to support the promotion of Chiang Mai’s sister city relations with other cities, especially those that would truly benefit the province and the people. She also shared views in the part how Chiang Mai could advance cooperation from strengths of each sister city.
