เมื่อวันที่ 15 มิถุนายน 2569 อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่กรมการกงสุล และเจ้าหน้าที่สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงอังการา ได้พบหารือกับนาย Reyhan Özgür Elçi รักษาการอธิบดีกรมนโยบายการโยกย้ายถิ่นฐานและกระบวนการตรวจลงตรา กระทรวงการต่างประเทศตุรกี และเจ้าที่กระทรวงฯ รวมถึงหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องของตุรกี ณ ที่ทำการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ กรุงอังการา สาธารณรัฐตุรกี

ในโอกาสนี้ อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลได้กล่าวขอบคุณรัฐบาลตุรกีในนามรัฐบาลไทยผ่านรักษาการฯ สำหรับการสนับสนุนและอำนวยความสะดวกในการเคลื่อนย้ายคนไทยออกจากอิหร่านผ่านชายแดนทางบกของตุรกี และการปฏิบัติภารกิจของสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงเตหะราน ณ ที่ทำการชั่วคราว เมืองวาน สาธารณรัฐตุรกี นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือเกี่ยวกับการอำนวยความสะดวกด้านการเข้าเมืองและการตรวจลงตรา และการคุ้มครองคนชาติ

จากสถิติปี 2568 มีนักท่องเที่ยวชาวตุรกีเดินทางมาไทยจำนวนประมาณ 127,000 คน และนักท่องเที่ยวชาวไทยเดินทางไปยังตุรกีประมาณ 47,000 คน

On 15 June 2026, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs led a delegation from the Department and the Royal Thai Embassy in Ankara to meet with Mr. Reyhan Özgür Elçi, Acting Director-General for Migration Policies and Visa Procedures, Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, and officials from Turkish authorities, in Ankara, the Republic of Türkiye.

On this occasion, Director-General expressed the utmost gratitude on behalf of the Royal Thai Government to the Government of Türkiye, through the Acting Director-General, for its support and facilitation of the re-location of Thai nationals from Iran through Türkiye’s land border, as well as its assistance in facilitating the operation of the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran at the temporary office in Van, Republic of Türkiye. The two sides also discussed cooperation on immigration and visa facilitation, as well as the protection of own nationals.

According to 2025 statistics, approximately 127,000 Turkish tourists visited Thailand, while around 47,000 Thai tourists travelled to Türkiye.
