เมื่อวันที่ 2 มิถุนายน 2569 อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลได้พบหารือกับนาย Nassereddin Heidari เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิสลามอิหร่านประจำประเทศไทย โดยเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ยินดีที่มีการติดต่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลอย่างสม่ำเสมอระหว่างเจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องของกรมการกงสุลกับสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิสลามอิหร่านประจำประเทศไทย และอธิบดีกรมการกงสุลได้กล่าวขอบคุณทางการอิหร่านที่ได้อำนวยความสะดวกในการเคลื่อนย้ายคนไทยออกจากสถานการณ์ความไม่สงบในตะวันออกกลางเมื่อเดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมา
นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือในประเด็นความร่วมมือด้านการกงสุลต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ การคุ้มครองและดูแลคนชาติ การอำนวยความสะดวกด้านการตรวจลงตรา และความคืบหน้าในเรื่องต่าง ๆ ที่ได้หารือกันในการประชุมหารือด้านการกงสุลไทย – สาธารณรัฐอิสลามอิหร่าน ครั้งที่ 5
จากสถิติปี 2568 มีนักท่องเที่ยวอิหร่านเดินทางมาเยือนไทยประมาณ 60,000 คน และปัจจุบันมีคนไทยพำนักอาศัยอยู่ในสาธารณรัฐอิสลามอิหร่านประมาณ 180 คน

Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs (DCA) receives a courtesy call from Iranian Ambassador to Thailand
On 2 June 2026, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Nassereddin Heidari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Thailand. In this occasion, the Iranian Ambassador expressed satisfaction with the regular communication and exchange of information related officers of the Department of Consular Affairs and the Embassy of the Islamic republic of Iran. DG of the DCA conveyed his appreciation to Iranian authorities for facilitating the mobilisation of Thai nationals from instability situation in the Middle East in March this year.
Both sides also discussed various consular cooperation issues, including the protection of own nationals, visa facilitation, and the development of several areas of cooperation discussed in the 5th Round of Thailand – Iran Consular Consultations.
According to 2025 statistics, approximately 60,000 Iranian tourists visited Thailand, and as of now around 180 Thais reside in Iran.
