เมื่อวันที่ 17 กันยายน 2568 นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุล และ พ.ต.อ. จันทน์ชัย แดงประเสริฐ รองผู้บังคับการ กองบังคับการตรวจคนเข้าเมือง 2 พร้อมด้วยนายวัชระ ปวุฒิยาพงศ์ เจ้าหน้าที่กงสุลประจำสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ เวียงจันทน์ นำคณะจากกองตรวจลงตราและเอกสารเดินทางคนต่างด้าวและ สตม. เข้าพบหารือ พ.อ. เพ็ดดาวง แก้วกันยา หัวหน้ากรมตรวจคนเข้าเมือง สปป.ลาว และคณะผู้บริหารระดับสูงของกรม ตม.สปป.ลาว ณ ที่ทำการใหญ่ในเวียงจันทน์ เพื่อกระชับความร่วมมือและรับทราบข้อคิดเห็นเพื่อเพิ่มพูนความร่วมมือด้านการเข้าเมือง
รองอธิบดีบัญชาฯ รับทราบความประสงค์ของกรม ตม. สปป.ลาว ที่จะกระชับความร่วมมือด้านการแลกเปลี่ยนข่าวสารในการสกัดกั้นการลักลอบข้ามแดน การแก้ไขปัญหาอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ การค้ามนุษย์ การค้าขายเถื่อน และยาเสพติด นอกจากนี้ ตม. ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์ในการใช้ Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 พ.ค. 2568 เป็นต้นมา กับการทดลองใช้ระบบ Lao PDR Immigration Card ของ สปป.ลาว เมื่อวันที่ 1 ก.ย. 2568 โดยคาดว่า สปป.ลาวจะเริ่มใช้อย่างเป็นทางการในปี 2569 การพบหารือเป็นไปอย่างฉันมิตรและสร้างสรรค์ โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายแสดงความยินดีที่ทั้งกรมการกงสุล กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ และสถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ เวียงจันทน์ได้กระชับความร่วมมือกับกรม ตม.สปป.ลาวให้ใกล้ชิดมากขึ้น ซึ่งจะช่วยให้การอำนวยความสะดวกด้านการเข้าเมืองระหว่างคนชาติของทั้งสองฝ่ายให้สะดวกยิ่งขึ้นในอนาคต
On 17 September 2025, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, together with Pol. Col. Chunchai Dangprasert, Deputy Commander of Immigration Division 2, and Mr. Vachara Pawutiyapong, Consular Officer at the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, led the delegations from the Visa and Travel Documents Division, Department of Consular Affairs, and the Thai Immigration Bureau to meet with Pol. Col. Phetdavong Keokanya, Director-General of Immigration Department of the Lao PDR, and senior executives of the Lao Immigration Department at their headquarters in Vientiane. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen bilateral cooperation and to exchange views on enhancing collaboration in immigration matters.
DDG Bancha noted the Lao Immigration Department’s interest in deepening cooperation in areas such as information exchange for preventing illegal border crossings, addressing transnational crime, human trafficking, smuggling, and drug-related issues. Furthermore, both sides shared experiences regarding the implementation of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), which has been in use since 1 May 2025, and the trial stage for the implementation of the Lao PDR Immigration Card, which began on 1 September 2025 and is expected to be officially launched in 2026.
The discussions were conducted in an amicable and constructive atmosphere. Both sides expressed appreciation for the enhanced cooperation between the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, and the Lao Immigration Department, which will further facilitate immigration procedures and travel between nationals of the two countries in the future.
