เมื่อวันที่ 9 กรกฎาคม 2568 นายมังกร ประทุมแก้ว อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล เป็นประธานการประชุมหารือด้านการกงสุลไทย – สาธารณรัฐเกาหลี ครั้งที่ 7 (The 7th Thailand-Republic of Korea Consular Consultations) ร่วมกับนายยูน ชูซ็อก อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลและความปลอดภัยสาธารณรัฐเกาหลี (เกาหลีใต้) ณ โรงแรมสยามเคมปินสกี้ กรุงเทพฯ โดยมีผู้แทนจากทั้งกระทรวงการต่างประเทศไทยและเกาหลีใต้ และผู้แทนส่วนราชการไทยที่เกี่ยวข้อง ได้แก่ กระทรวงแรงงาน สำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ สำนักงานตรวจคนเข้าเมือง กองบัญชาการตำรวจท่องเที่ยว และสำนักงานคณะกรรมการป้องกันและปราบปรามยาเสพติด เข้าร่วมการประชุมด้วย
การประชุมครั้งนี้เป็นโอกาสในการหารือเพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการกงสุลของไทยกับเกาหลีใต้ในหลายหัวข้อ อาทิ การตรวจคนเข้าเมือง การคุ้มครองดูแลคนชาติ การติดตามผลการพัฒนาระบบ Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) เพื่ออำนวยความสะดวกให้แก่นักท่องเที่ยวไทยที่เดินทางไปเกาหลีใต้ ความร่วมมือด้านแรงงาน การแก้ไขปัญหายาเสพติด รวมถึงความร่วมมือด้านการส่งตัวผู้ร้ายข้ามแดน
ในโอกาสนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ยืนยันเจตนารมณ์ร่วมที่จะเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านการกงสุลระหว่างกันให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น รวมทั้งยกระดับความปลอดภัยและความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของประชาชนแต่ละประเทศ

On 9 July 2025, Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, co-chaired the 7th Thailand – Republic of Korea Consular Consultations with Mr. Yoon Chusok, Director-General for Consular Affairs and Safety of the Republic of Korea. The meeting was held in Bangkok and was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (TH and RoK), Ministry of Labour, Royal Thai Police, Immigration Bureau, Tourist Police Bureau, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board.
Both sides discussed a wide range of consular issues such as immigration, protection of own nationals, development of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system to facilitate Thai tourists traveling to Korea, promotion of labour cooperation, drug-related issues, and a mutual agreement to enhance collaboration on the extradition of fugitives.
The two delegations reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral consular cooperation and enhancing the safety and well-being of their respective nationals.
