เมื่อวันที่ 23 - 26 เมษายน 2568 นายมังกร ประทุมแก้ว อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล พร้อมด้วยคณะเจ้าหน้าที่กองสัญชาติและนิติกรณ์ กองคุ้มครองและดูแลผลประโยชน์คนไทยในต่างประเทศ กรมการกงสุล สำนักบริหารการทะเบียน กรมการปกครอง ตำรวจไซเบอร์ สำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ และสำนักงานอัยการพิเศษฝ่ายคุ้มครองสิทธิประชาชนระหว่างประเทศ สำนักงานอัยการสูงสุด ได้ร่วมสนับสนุนการดำเนินโครงการอบรมอาสาสมัครกงสุลซึ่งจัดขึ้นโดยสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ นครนิวยอร์ก

โครงการดังกล่าวมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์และสร้างความเข้าใจในงานด้านกงสุลแก่อาสาสมัคร ซึ่งเป็นเครือข่ายที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการประสานงานระหว่างสถานกงสุลฯ กับชุมชนไทย ช่วยเผยแพร่ความรู้ด้านงานกงสุล บทบาทและหน้าที่ความรับผิดชอบของกงสุลอาสา สนับสนุนกิจกรรมคนไทยในเขตกงสุล โดยคณะได้พบชุมชนชาวไทยเพื่อให้ความรู้และคำปรึกษาด้านกงสุล กฎหมาย และความปลอดภัยทางไซเบอร์อีกด้วย

ในโอกาสนี้ คณะได้จัดการฝึกอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการให้แก่เจ้าหน้าที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ให้คำแนะนำสนับสนุนการทำงาน และแก้ไขปัญหาข้อขัดข้องในการปฏิบัติงานเพื่อให้บริการประชาชนได้อย่างถูกต้องและเกิดประสิทธิภาพสูงสุด

Capacity-Building Project on Civil Registration and National ID Services Royal Thai Consulate-General, New York City

On April 23 - 26, 2025 (B.E. 2568), Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, along with a delegation of officials from the Legalization Division and the Protection of Thai Nationals Abroad Division of the Department of Consular Affairs, the Bureau of Registration Administration of the Department of Provincial Administration, the Royal Thai Police, and the Office of the Attorney General, participated in and supported a capacity-building project for “Volunteer Consuls” organized by the Royal Thai Consulate-General in New York.

The purpose of this project is to share experiences and enhance knowledge and understanding of consular work and responsibility among Volunteer Consuls of the Consulate-General, as these Volunteer Consuls form a vital network that plays a key role in coordination, disseminating knowledge about consular services, and serving as a voice for the Thai community. The project also included outreach to the Thai community in the area to provide information and consultations on consular matters, legal issues, and cyber safety.

In addition, the delegation had a discussion and organized a workshop with the Consulate-General to exchange knowledge, offer guidance and solutions to practical setbacks, and support the Consulate-General’s efforts to deliver more effective and efficient services to the public.
