อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล เข้าร่วมการประชุมหารือด้านการกงสุล ญี่ปุ่น - ไทย ครั้งที่ 4 และปฏิบัติภารกิจที่เกี่ยวข้องต่าง ๆ ณ กรุงโตเกียว และนครโอซากา ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
ระหว่างวันที่ 16 – 20 เมษายน 2569 นายมังกร ประทุมแก้ว อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลและคณะเข้าร่วมการประชุมหารือด้านการกงสุล ญี่ปุ่น - ไทย ครั้งที่ 4 และปฏิบัติภารกิจที่เกี่ยวข้อง ณ กรุงโตเกียว และนครโอซากา ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
ในการประชุมหารือด้านการกงสุลฯ อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลเป็นประธานร่วมกับ นาย MIBAE Taisuke อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลญี่ปุ่น ณ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศญี่ปุ่น กรุงโตเกียว ประเทศญี่ปุ่น โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือในประเด็นต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับความร่วมมือด้านการกงสุล อาทิ การคุ้มครองคนชาติ ความปลอดภัยของนักท่องเที่ยว การแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์เคลื่อนย้ายคนชาติในสถานการณ์ฉุกเฉิน และการนิติกรณ์เอกสารระหว่างกัน
นอกจากนี้ อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลและคณะได้พบปะกับผู้แทนสมาคมหรือชุมชนไทยทั้งในกรุงโตเกียวและนครโอซาการะหว่างตรวจเยี่ยมการให้บริการกงสุลสัญจรและเข้าร่วมงานสงกรานต์ที่วัดสมณวงศ์ จ.วาคายามะ เพื่อสอบถามถึงความเป็นอยู่และรับฟังข้อคิดเห็นต่าง ๆ เพื่อพัฒนางานบริการกงสุลให้กับคนไทย และเข้าร่วมพิธีมอบเงินสนับสนุนองค์กรท้องถิ่น 3 แห่ง ที่ให้ความช่วยเหลือชาวต่างชาติและชาวไทยในพื้นที่อย่างต่อเนื่อง นอกจากนี้ ได้เยี่ยมชมและรับฟังบรรยายสรุปจากศูนย์เรียนรู้การป้องกันภัยพิบัติอาบิโนะที่รวมองค์ความรู้ในการรับมือกับเหตุฉุกเฉินทั้งทางธรรมชาติ เช่น แผ่นดินไหว สึนามิ และอุบัติภัยอื่น ๆ เช่น ไฟไหม้ เป็นต้น
ในปี 2568 มีนักท่องเที่ยวญี่ปุ่นเดินทางมาไทยประมาณ 1,090,000 คน ซึ่งเป็นลำดับที่ 6 ของนักท่องเที่ยวต่างประเทศที่เดินทางมาไทยและมีคนไทยเดินทางไปท่องเที่ยวญี่ปุ่นประมาณ 1,060,000 คน ซึ่งเป็นลำดับที่ 6 ของนักท่องเที่ยวต่างชาติที่เดินทางไปญี่ปุ่น และคนไทยอีกประมาณ 78,000 คน พำนักถาวรหรือระยะยาวในญี่ปุ่น

During 16–20 April 2026, Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, and the delegation attended the 4th Japan–Thailand Consular Consultations and participated in related activities in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan.
Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs co-chaired the meeting with Mr. MIBAE Taisuke, Director-General of the Consular Affairs Bureau, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in Tokyo, Japan. Both sides discussed a range of consular cooperation issues, including the protection of respective nationals, tourist safety, the exchange of experiences in assisting and mobilizing nationals during emergencies, and legalization.
In addition, the Director-General and the delegates had opportunities to learn about the well-being of Thai nationals and gather feedback in order to improve consular services when meeting with representatives of Thai associations and communities in Tokyo, Osaka and nearby cities while observing mobile consular services and attending the Songkran Festival at Samanavong Temple in Wakayama Prefecture. The delegation also met with three local organizations/NGOs that have been assisting foreign nationals, including Thais, in Osaka and attended the grant presentation ceremony for those organizations/NGOs. Furthermore, the delegation visited the Disaster Prevention Learning Center in Abeno, which provides knowledge on how to respond to emergencies, including natural disasters such as earthquakes and tsunamis, as well as other incidents such as fires.
In 2025, approximately 1,090,000 Japanese tourists visited Thailand, ranking 6th among all international arrivals to the country, while approximately 1,060,000 Thai tourists traveled to Japan, also ranking 6th among all international inbound. In addition, around 78,000 Thai nationals reside in Japan on a long-term or permanent stay.
