เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 21 กรกฎาคม 2568 นายมังกร ประทุมแก้ว อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล ต้อนรับและพบหารือกับนาย Doan Hoang Minh อธิบดีกรมการกงสุลเวียดนาม โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือในประเด็นต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับงานด้านกงสุล อาทิ ภาพรวมงานคุ้มครองคนชาติ การสนับสนุนข้อริเริ่ม Six Countries, One Destination (6C1D) การส่งเสริมการเดินทางไปมาหาสู่กันสำหรับประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ การเรียนรู้ประสบการณ์ของไทยในการเข้าร่วมเป็นภาคี Apostille Convention และการหารือความเป็นไปได้ในการจัดประชุมหารือด้านกงสุลระหว่าง ไทย-เวียดนาม ครั้งที่ 2 (The 2nd Thailand-Viet Nam Consular Consultative Meeting) รวมถึงการแจ้งข้อมูลล่าสุดเกี่ยวกับระเบียบและข้อกฎหมายต่าง ๆ ของเวียดนามที่จะเป็นประโยชน์กับประชาชนของทั้งสองประเทศ เป็นต้น
ปัจจุบัน มีคนไทยพำนักอยู่ในเวียดนาม 1,500 คน และมีคนเวียดนามพำนักอยู่ในประเทศไทย 5,000 คน

On 21 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, welcomed and had a discussion with H.E. Mr. Doan Hoang Minh, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs of Viet Nam. Both sides discussed various consular issues, including protection of own nationals, the support for the “Six Countries, One Destination (6C1D)” scheme, promoting the ease of travelling for citizens of both countries, Thailand’s experiences towards becoming a contracting party of the Apostille Convention, the possibility to convene The 2nd Thailand-Viet Nam Consular Consultative Meeting, and updates on Vietnamese new regulations/laws that would benefit the peoples of both countries.
Currently, there are 1,500 Thai nationals residing in Viet Nam and 5,000 Vietnamese nationals residing in Thailand.
