เมื่อวันจันทร์ที่ 21 กรกฎาคม 2568 นายมังกร ประทุมแก้ว อธิบดีกรมการกงสุล ให้การต้อนรับ H.E. Mr. Fuwad Thowfeek เอกอัครราชทูตมัลดีฟส์ประจำประเทศไทย ในโอกาสเข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ และหารือในประเด็นต่าง ๆ เกี่ยวกับงานด้านกงสุล อาทิ การคุ้มครองและดูแลคนไทยในมัลดีฟส์ พัฒนาการล่าสุดของการเจรจาความตกลงยกเว้นการตรวจลงตราให้กับผู้ถือหนังสือเดินทางทูตและราชการไทย-มัลดีฟส์ และความร่วมมือในการส่งผู้ร้ายข้ามแดน เป็นต้น

ในปี 2567 มีคนไทยเดินทางไปท่องเที่ยวที่มัลดีฟส์ 17,997 คน และนักท่องเที่ยวมัลดีฟส์เดินทางมาไทย 28,436 คน

On 21 July 2025, H.E. Mr. Mungkorn Pratoomkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, received a courtesy call from H.E. Mr. Fuwad Thowfeek, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Maldives to Thailand. During the call, both sides discussed various consular issues, including the protection of Thai nationals in Maldives, the update on the progress of the visa exemption agreement for Thailand-Maldives diplomatic and official passport holders negotiation, and the collaboration on fugitives extradition.

In 2024, 17,997 Thai tourists traveled to the Maldives and 28,436 Maldivian tourists traveled to Thailand.
