เมื่อวันที่ 11 ธันวาคม 2568 นายบัญชา ยืนยงจงเจริญ รองอธิบดีกรมการกงสุล ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมกับคณะกรรมาธิการการป้องกันปราบปรามการฟอกเงินและยาเสพติด สภาผู้แทนราษฎร เพื่อศึกษาข้อเท็จจริงและหามาตรการป้องกัน/สกัดกั้นมิให้คนไทยลักลอบนำยาเสพติดไปต่างประเทศ โดยมีนายดนุพร ปุณณกันต์ ประธานคณะกรรมาธิการการป้องกันปราบปรามการฟอกเงินและยาเสพติด สภาผู้แทนราษฎร เป็นประธานการประชุม และมีผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องเข้าร่วมประชุมซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่ห้องประชุมกรรมาธิการฯ อาคารรัฐสภา ประกอบด้วยสำนักงานคณะกรรมการป้องกันและปราบปรามยาเสพติด (ป.ป.ส.) กรมศุลกากร กองบัญชาการตำรวจปราบปรามยาเสพติด การท่าอากาศยานแห่งประเทศไทย รวมทั้ง น.ส.นิภา นิรันดร์นุต กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองดูไบที่เข้าร่วมการประชุมทางออนไลน์
การประชุมดังกล่าวฯ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อหามาตรการป้องกัน/สกัดกั้นมิให้คนไทยลักลอบนำยาเสพติดไปต่างประเทศเนื่องจากที่ผ่านมามีสถิติคนไทยถูกจับดำเนินคดียาเสพติดในสหรัฐอาหรับเอมิเรตส์ และประเทศอื่นๆ เป็นจำนวนมาก รวมถึงต้องการทราบการดำเนินการหรือมาตรการของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องในการป้องกัน/สกัดกั้นมิให้คนไทยลักลอบนำสิ่งเสพติด อาทิ เฮโรอีน ยาไอซ์ กัญชา ฯลฯ แอบบรรจุในกระเป๋าเดินทางหรือส่งทางพัสดุภัณฑ์ไปต่างประเทศ โดยกรมการกงสุลได้เสนอแนะให้เพิ่มมาตรการตรวจเข้มข้นในช่วงที่ผู้โดยสารนำสัมภาระเช็คอินกับสายการบินก่อนออกเดินทางไป ตปท. และในการจัดส่งพัสดุภัณฑ์ไปต่างประเทศมากขึ้น

DDG of Dept. of Consular Affairs Attends Parliamentary Committee Meeting to Prevent Thai Nationals from Smuggling Drugs Abroad
On 11 December 2025, Mr. Bancha Yuenyongchongcharoen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, attended a meeting with The Committee on Money Laundering and Narcotics Prevention and Suppression of the House of Representatives, which was held at the Committee Meeting Room, Parliament Building. The meeting aimed to learn facts and discuss about measures to prevent and intercept Thai nationals from drugs smuggling.
The meeting was chaired by Mr. Danuporn Punnakant, Chairman of The Committee on Money Laundering and Narcotics Prevention and Suppression of the House of Representatives, and was attended by representatives from relevant agencies such as the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB), the Customs Department, the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB), Royal Thai Police, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT), as well as Ms. Nipa Nirannoot, Consul General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai, who joined the meeting online.
The objective of the meeting was to seek appropriate preventive and interceptive measures in response to the increasing number of Thai nationals arrested and prosecuted for drug-related offenses in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other countries. The Committee also sought information on existing operations and measures undertaken by relevant agencies to prevent Thai nationals from drugs smuggling—such as Heroin, Methamphetamine (ICE), Cannabis, and others—concealed in luggages or transported overseas through parcels delivery services.
The Department of Consular Affairs proposed to enhancing stricter inspection measures during the passenger check-in process with airlines prior to international departures, as well as strengthening controls on international parcel shipments.
